Creative director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia delivered an exciting and daring collection for Spring/Summer ’18. Styled by Lotta Volkova, the shapes and silhouettes mixed and matched with unmistakeable punk overtones like plaid, personalized charms, stilettos with extreme spikes, and scenic prints on tights. It was all about the individual and iddiosyncratic in this collection.
A statement released with the collection states: “the study of the inherent possibilities of recognizable products and objects is the design impulse behind the Spring Summer 18 collection…store awnings turned into trousers or fringed sun umbrellas turned into skirts, screen saver prints, newspaper pages, bank-note scans…”
