Bottega Veneta Winter 2026: Eight Ways of Seeing

3 September 2026

For Bottega Veneta Winter 2026, distance is not simply measured; it is reconsidered. Louise Trotter’s second collection for the house is presented through a collective act of looking, with eight photographers invited to interpret its shifting relationship between intimacy and performance.

Across eight days in February, Chris Rhodes, Cristina Stohle, James Ari King, Kira Bunse, Nicole Maria Winkler, Piotr Niepsuj, Rosie Harriet Ellis and Sam Penn each brought a distinct vision to the collection. Together, their photographs form a portrait that is plural rather than fixed, moving on and off the runway while tracing the balance between structure and softness, volume in motion and detail in hand.

Zine 002 documents both the process and its inspiration, allowing the collection to be understood through changes in scale, perspective and proximity. A silhouette seen from afar offers one kind of beauty; a detail held close offers another. The camera does not merely record the clothes; it reveals how their character changes according to the distance from which they are seen.

Taken together, the images return to John Ruskin’s proposition in The Stones of Venice (1851-53) that every distance from the eye possesses its own peculiar beauty. Here, eight perspectives draw the collection into focus, closing the distance between structure and softness, observation and experience.
