Following her debut campaign for self-portrait last fall, Apple Martin returns for a contemplative new series of portraits photographed by Ryan McGinley and styled by Mel Ottenberg. Shot in upstate New York, the series unfolds against a bucolic American landscape where McGinley's signature youthful freedom is captured amid the naturalistic setting. Fluid and graceful, the new self-portrait collection explores sunlit textures like soft laces, airy chiffons, and shimmering finishes, further complementing Martin's embrace of the landscape and serenity.
Han Chong, Founder and Creative Director of self-portrait, said “While our first chapter introduced Apple officially to the creative industry, this new series of portraits show a more reflective evolution of her personality; there’s a maturity and steadiness to the imagery which aligns with where she is heading. Watching her grow from the sidelines has been one of the most rewarding parts of this partnership; she is a joy to work with, a lot of fun to be around, and a new effortless style icon in the making.”
Joining previous self-portrait campaign talents such as Kate Moss, Jisoo of Blackpink, and Emily Ratajkowski, this new chapter with Martin marks a new creative chapter for both Apple Martin and self-portrait. In celebrating the new partnership, in November of last year, Martin hosted a house party in New York alongside Chong, McGinley and Ottenberg. Guests included Precious Lee, Jack Harlow, Anna Van Patten, Lucas Gage, Neelam Gil, Taylore Scarabelli, Coco Gordon, Scarlett White, True Whitaker, Olympia of Greece, Malika Louback, Nicky Hilton, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Brooks Nader, Francesca Keller and Dara Allen.
