Etro Men Spring/Summer 2027 Embarks on Extraordinary Journeys

19 July 2026

By Jesse Scott

Inside the cavernous halls of the Museo Scienza e Tecnologica de Leonardo da Vinci, Etro recreated a vintage train station to unveil its Spring/Summer 2027 collection. Hearkening back to the golden age of train travel, the event unveiled perhaps the most sumptuous suits of the season so far. Vibrant patterns, vivid colors, and flowing silhouettes recalled aristocratic adventurers who embarked on the fabled Grand Tour then found sartorial inspiration from the destinations they encountered along the way.

The models meandered between guests and vintage trunks, as if pacing on the train platform in anticipation of a long-awaited and imminently approaching journey. One exuberantly swung around from a carriage handrail with a boyish charm, sunglasses on and collar rakishly askew. Another lounged on a trunk, the epitome of unbothered ease, in an orange paisley ensemble which blurred the lines between suiting and loungewear. And yet another gave the old-world atmosphere a contemporary flavor by pairing a bright baseball cap with a patterned shirt and tie. Such touches were sprinkled carefully throughout the collection; for example, playful airplane pendants were frequently worn as pants chains and braided scarves recurred in place of the ascots that one might have expected a century ago. Shirts were even worn as blazers, a practical yet ingenious approach to layering that felt much-needed in sweltering Milan.

Stars All Aboard for Latest Etro Collection

The star-studded guest list got the memo for this presentation. Rich paisleys and retro color palettes were as predominant among attendees as they were on the runway. Miami Heat star Simone Fontecchio arrived in an iridescent silver shirt. Italian actor Lino Guanciale arrived perfectly styled in a partially-untucked richly embroidered shirt. And rapper Saint Jhn, rapidly becoming a major fashion week player, took “best look of the day” in an intricately patterned jacket.

In 2026, the romance of train travel has become practically non-existent (just ask any of my colleagues whose journeys to and from Milan this fashion week were interminably delayed). And the advent of doom-scrolling, even among avid travelers, means that even the most alluring exotic destinations can lose their mystery before we arrive. This Etro collection brought us back to a more authentic, and exciting time. To step into the presentation was to suspend our current reality and rediscover the sense of wonder and adventure that I associate with my first solo international journeys. A poignant and transformative collection, Etro Spring/Summer 2027 will be one of the defining themes in my wardrobe next season.
