Heidi Klum seized the spotlight at the much-anticipated opening ceremony of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival this past year, dazzling a star-studded crowd in a delightfully dramatic Elie Saab dress. A true piece de resistance from Riyadh’s ‘1001 Seasons of Elie Saab’ collection, the baby pink organza gown contained hundreds of intricate petals extending into a breathtakingly long train. The epitome of Saab’s impeccable mindfulness and signature feminine elegance, the silhouette embodied a rare combination of voluminousness and ephemerality through the ingeniously layered ruffles. Meanwhile, a high leg slit provided a structured sensuality and the combination of a strapless neck with an elaborate floral bodice spoke to an effortless femininity reminiscent of Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus.” Klum completed the look with matching open-toe heels, enhancing the overall air of sophisticated natural beauty.
Just a day later, Klum returned to the red carpet for the premiere of “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning” alongside her husband Tom Kaulitz. She once again was dressed in a show-stopping piece from “The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab,” this time a magnificently sculpted mermaid dress that combined a fierce form-fitting bodice with the winding seashell inspired train signature to the silhouette. Fully embroidered with thousands of glimmering aquamarine sequins, the dress told a marine fairy tale perfect for the start of a Côte d’Azur summer.
Elie Saab is having a huge moment in Cannes this season, also dressing stars such as Eva Longoria, Halley Berry, Youssra, and Hannah Waddingham. The couturier even opened a beautifully designed pop-up store at the festival, allowing other inspired guests to live out their own Mediterranean princess fantasies. It is Saab’s world, and we cannot wait to see where it takes us next.
