TASCHEN and Louis Vuitton have collaborated on three limited edition volumes that document the House's historic partnership with the America's Cup. Stretching back forty years, Louis Vuitton returned as title partner to the top sailing competition held in Barcelona this year. Milestones include the design of a bespoke Trophy Trunk in 2017 and awarding this year's trophy to winning team Emirates Team New Zealand at the 37th America's Cup Barcelona. As a tribute to this historic partnership, the Maison will publish three limited volumes on the world's oldest international sport competition.

The America's Cup has been synonymous with daring adventures and cutting-edge yacht technology for three centuries. The books explore its rich evolution from 1851 to today's competitions, culminating in this year's Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup. With rare photographs, technical drawings, and detailed data, the volume reveals the essence of sailing's most coveted prize.

"We are excited to partner with Louis Vuitton on this landmark publication,” said Marlene Taschen, CEO of TASCHEN. “The book has been years in the making and is our first maritime exploration in the publishing house 45-year history. There is no better and more ambitious place to start than with this legendary race. We are telling this thrilling saga of sailing tradition and innovation through exquisite imagery and first-hand testimonies from around the world. Marc Newson's stupendous design once again elevates the whole thing to new heights."

"This book is a unique journey through the history of the America's Cup, connecting the sea to great discoveries and encounters. We are delighted to collaborate with TASCHEN to highlight this compelling narrative, which resonates with the heritage of Louis Vuitton, a legacy that began in 1854, five years prior to the creation of the America's Cup,” says Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

Speaking on his design for the publications, Marc Newson added, “The case and stand I designed for the Editions are a nod to the awe-inspiring vessels competing in the America's Cup. This project has been another wonderful opportunity to work alongside two long-time collaborators, TASCHEN and Louis Vuitton, to collectively honor this unique event.”

The America's Cup is edited by distinguished sports journalist and writer Pino Allievi, who spent the last six years researching and curating the project.
