McQueen Presents the Manta Bag in a Submerged World

31 March 2026

By The Fashion Editorial Team

McQueen presents the Manta bag through a campaign defined by submerged intensity. Photographed by Tim Walker and starring Vivien Solari, the imagery is suspended within an otherworldly waterscape, evoking the House’s enduring fascination with nature as both force and form. Accompanied by Lullaby from Rosemary’s Baby Part 1 (Komeda), performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the campaign unfolds with a controlled, unmistakably McQueen tension.

The Manta bag draws from the De Manta silhouette introduced in the Spring/Summer 2010 Plato’s Atlantis collection. Inspired by the anatomy of the manta ray, the bag is rendered in angular folds, its geometry precise and deliberate. Fluidity is translated into structure; instinct refined into control. The result is a form that feels both organic and engineered, poised between nature and the city.

Designed to meet the moment, the Manta is offered in smooth black, red, and metallic gunmetal leather. Pearl, crystal, and chandelier chain charms introduce a measured ornamentation, catching light without disrupting the bag’s disciplined edge. An evolution rather than a revival, the Manta stands as an object shaped by archive and sharpened by intent—defined by the tension held just below the surface.
