On November 18th, Maison Valentino presented The Valentino Garavani DeVain Digital Creative Project, where nine international artists have come together to interpret the DeVain statement handbag. In its first chapter, five of the nine artists, Thomas Albdorf, Enter The Void, Paul Octavious, Albert Planella and Tina Tona, reach deep into their imaginations to present distinct visual narratives.
Albdorf shares an entrancing series of fragmentation that suspends the DeVain between reality and illusion. Meanwhile, Enter The Void reveals a dreamlike scene where an underwater desert hotel situated in a skyline is populated with oceanic creatures and fashionable moments. In his short, Octavious takes the DeVain back in time by retrofitting the handbag in his re-animations of 16th century classic portraiture. For Planella's bejeweled and harlequin DeVain, the artist transports viewers to a nostalgic 19th century circus scene by way of figurines. Reaching back to the thrill of scrapbooking and collaging, Tina Tona contextualizes cultural lexicons with the Devain in a dynamic animation. As the first chapter of Valentino Garavani's digital project unfolds, these five artistic visions mark the perseverance of human creativity and heritage; values held dear to the Maison and its creative director, Alessandro Michele.
First introduced by Michele in the Pre-Fall 2025 collection, the DeVain offers a new take on contemporary femininity. Soft and versatile, DeVain plays on the idea of feeling “divine” as a tension between refinement and ease. Available now at select Valentino boutiques and on valentino.com, the DeVain is offered in twenty-seven variations: from monochrome versions in nappa or metallic nappa to denim, crochet raffia, and shearling embellished with multicolored crystals. Additionally, precious skins, thread and bead embroideries, romantic combinations of floral garlands, and velvet, further embody the expressive assortment. Accompanying each clutch is a leather tag to personalize with your initials for an authentic statement of individual style.
