Conceived by Valentino creative director, Alessandro Michele, and set to Chopin's Nocturne in E Flat, comes a new Cruise campaign from the Maison taking inspiration from the moments before rest, where everything yields to a slow abandonment. Photographed by Marili Andre in a fashionable hotel set, replete with old world charm, talents Marisa Berenson, Dev Hynes, Anne Imhof, Dakota Johnson, Tate McRae, and Devon Teuscher embrace a quiet hush, a shelter from the world outside.
A metaphor for the contemporary condition, Michele's hotel becomes "a place of proximity without contact, where parallel solitudes breathe within the same time and thoughts intertwine through thin walls. A human hive, where every cell preserves the prelude of a dream. Or maybe, as Freud would say, the very threshold where dream begins to think for us."
Chopin's score is tantamount to the campaign's vision as "a shared waiting that renews the fragile bond between dissonant yet intensely vital existences... musical breath of a world that, for a fleeting instant, allowed itself to sleep together."
