Inspired by her now-teenage daughter, as well as keepsakes from her own adolescence, Victoria Beckham curated a contemporary coming-of-age wardrobe for Spring/Summer 2026. Distilling the transition between girlhood and womanhood into a heartfelt collection, and sartorially epitomizing the acute elation, anticipation, heartbreak, and melancholy that many experience during this period, Beckham connected to her longtime supporters while writing a love letter to a new generation. Staying true to her stylistic codes while adding touches of playful girlish glamour, she designed an exquisite series of versatile looks that can be dressed up or dressed down but that always maintain a youthful exuberance and intensity. Similarly to a teenage girl mixing and matching from her friends’ and parents’ closets as she discovers her own sartorial language, Beckham displayed a spirit of enthusiastic experimentation throughout the show. The result was a flirtatious symphony of looks that oscillated between tomboy and diva with grace: as Beckham said in the show notes “naïve compositions and happy accidents that shape the way we learn to dress and express ourselves.” These were clothes for a girl who has the world as her oyster…and is not afraid to explore it all before deciding on her path.
Complementary Contrasts and Curated Chaos
Beckham was not paying lip service to adolescence; rather, the tribulations and triumphs of teenage girlhood were lovingly written into every detail of the clothing. Pieces were intentionally molded and creased to reflect those of a wearer who has yet to establish a full “getting ready” routine or learn the secrets of garment care. These delightful touches of dishevelment, playful but never sloppy, epitomized “it girl” in one of the most laissez-faire manners I have seen. Meanwhile, negligees and camisoles seemed metaphors for the metamorphosis from girl to woman (Looks 26, 28, 32). Effortlessly elegant, they referenced the empowering ritual of dressing oneself while seeming to have been thrown on in a fit of youthful spontaneity.

As always, Victoria Beckham launched a series of must-have bags for the coming season. Several bags winked at specific outfits: for example, the Victoria tote was emblazoned with checks from the lumberjack jackets and the V-seam duffel mirrored the construction of skirts and trousers. My personal favorite was the Dolly, which is built like an accordion and can compress into flatter form (Look 9). Also new this season was the pleated PIie bag, which blends the pragmatism of a voluminous bag with a sleek streamlined form.
Eva Longoria, Sofia Vergara, Oliva Munn, and Jeanne Damas were among the celebrities who sat front row at Val-de-Grâce as Beckham, channeling the nuance of a Sofia Coppola and irreverence of Tina Fey, authored her own coming-of-age tale. Occupying the unique niche of an “it girl” designer with broad relatability and a universality of message, Beckham has shown again that it is her world…we are just living in it.
