Ottolinger’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Moisturizer, takes its name from an added layer that glides over the body like a second skin. The brand has always prided itself on creating clothes that are carried, rather than simply worn, and this season was no exception. A cast of distinct characters strode to the repeated lyric, “got everything I wanted,” a fitting motif for a collection that catered to every occasion. From Berlin nightclub attire to casual joggers and lurex bikinis, each look was delivered with sheer confidence and certainty of the Ottolinger wearer.
Known for deconstructing fabrics through burning, knotting, twisting and shredding, the brand continued to push these techniques further this season. A warped take on a Nike tracksuit appeared with slightly off kilter logos and shredded waistbands, whilst new materials introduced a softer dimension to the collection. Draped dresses in fine silk-viscose jersey moulded to the body, held in place by padded tubes that wrapped around the figure like a second layer of skin.
The distressing and deconstructed nature of the pieces created an air of effortlessness and nonchalance, embracing imperfection rather than striving for symmetry or precision. The result felt raw, authentic and effortlessly cool. Ottolinger also demonstrated its cultural relevance through a runway lineup that tapped into the worlds of music and social media, featuring Diya, touted as India’s "it-girl," rapper Offset and, of course, German fashion royalty Heidi Klum.
