The Peter Pan collar that has become synonymous with GANNI is an ode to childhood and never growing up — GANNI’s Spring 2027 collection is just that. Pastel blues, shocking reds and ditsy prints formed a playful, childlike theme throughout, with an explicit nod to childhood in the form of a ready-to-wear top emblazoned with Ask My Mum across the chest. Ditte Reffstrup’s unconventional pairings and maximalist combinations, such as the snakeskin co-ord layered over a lilac striped top, finished with a blood-red handbag, seemed almost like the result of children playing dress-up.
Although fun and unexpected, the garments remain highly wearable for everyday life: a pale green puff-sleeved blouse would be the perfect pick for a walk in the park, while the stripey lime and black knit jumper can be thrown over the shoulders with a white shirt and a pair of jeans.
Reffstrup keeps GANNI’s spark alive by finding the whimsical side of the everyday and mundane. The collection itself was presented in a deliberately disproportioned setting: an oversized sofa, fit for a giant, sat alongside bags shrunk down to miniature sizes, creating an adult funhouse that rekindled childhood memories. A wall of refrigerator doors, complete with alphabet magnets and postcards, was another familiar sight... an emblem of every family kitchen.
In the world of GANNI, there are no rules, whether in the clothes or in the mock-up home created for the collection.
