Loro Piana paid homage to the city that never sleeps in the only way the storied cashmere brand knows how in style. The elegant crew set sail from lower Manhattan on Matthew Rhy’s 38-foot restored Wheeler Playmate. Only one of four boats remaining, the Playmate is the same boat author Ernest Hemingway owned.
The Details
Gifted Loro Piana’s classic white-soled summer walks, celebrities, and models, including Matthew Rhys, Julianna Margulies, Maye Musk, Don Lemon, and Loro Piana North America CEO Claudia Cividino, set off into the sunset.
Following the evening sail, guests headed to the newly opened Casa Cipriani Rooms and Suites in the Battery Maritime Building for an Italian-inspired dinner. The guests also gathered in the club’s Bartholdi Presidential Suite – one of the two suites outfitted in Loro Piana fabrics such as herringbone linen, corded silk velvet, and checked wool. The night ended with a DJ set from William Grand to views of the Statue of Liberty.
