Harris Reed’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection is a retrospective at the five year mark of the brand showing at London Fashion Week. Reed hones in on and celebrates the design language that has been developed and solidified through this tenure.
The color palette is streamlined to whites, ivories, and metallics. This sets aside the bright vibrance typically associated with her collections and rather develops the focus on her silhouettes, patterns and fabrics. Reed is famed for her explosive silhouettes, carefully constructed structures that caress and exaggerates or obfuscates and obscures form. Although many of these silhouettes seem to derive from the previous few collections, most notably her Aviary collection for Spring/Summer 2026.
The dynamic range of patterns and fabrics seems to draw from each different collection across her career at fashion week. Each previous collection seems to adopt a similar range of fabrics and patterns, to which Reed has sampled and juxtaposed against each other within looks creating a tension relatively unexplored in her oeuvre before.
The Spring/Summer 2027 introspection for Reed is, although nothing groundbreaking for her brand’s internal design language, an interesting experiment with her previous techniques in a streamlined fashion.
