On view from September 25 through November 16 during New York Art Week, Saint Laurent Rive Droite New York presents an exhibition by American artist Brandon Morris, curated by Anthony Vaccarello. Constructed with materials like leather, nylon, resin, and fiberglass, Morris’ sculptural practice explores how garments can exist independently of the human body. Following his Paris exhibition, Tissu Expansé, Anthony Vaccarello commissioned this new body of work which takes lace dresses from the Saint Laurent Women Winter 2026 collection as its starting point.
Expanding on his Ghost Dresses series, Morris’ works transform garments into hollow, freestanding sculptures. Constructed from fiberglass cloth silkscreened with lace patterns and hardened with tinted resin, the sculptures portray ghost-like figures as theatrical forms. Elongated silhouettes, distorted gestures, and expressive poses further translate the language of the Saint Laurent dresses into sculpture. Three sculptures are conceived in direct relation to vintage furniture sourced by the artist. Integrated into each work rather than used as a display element, the furniture allows Morris’ figures to inhabit the space in relaxed postures, suggesting gesture, presence, and individuality.
Presented at Saint Laurent Rive Droite New York, 72 Gansevoort Street, the exhibition reflects Vaccarello’s vision for the space as a destination for fashion, art, design, and cultural exchange.
